Geneology

E brought up the subject, and it's been following me around. I was rather interested before, but the thing is the adults are interested, they know more than me, and they have the resources. there's not much i can do- my dad is going to interview my grandmother sometime

i'm not sure why i'm interested- the stories are cool, i guess, but i like the researching part. and i make family trees for random book and people, like Henry IV's relatives for the French project. i should get back to that, mebe, but i dont really have time. i think i started to archive the stuff in my dad's scrapbook- should find that. or fix his scrapbook entirely, its about to disinigrate.

also, my paternal grandfather's sister is visiting, and my dad got out slides. some were cool. there are a few of my grandmother holding a piece of paper in front of her face- and it made me grin, because it's so much like me. now we have a digital camera, so my brother has turned paparazi, but maybe i'll be able to use it sometime.

I have had nothing to say on Blogger. Neither has anyone else, apparently.

:edit: so now people are updating. but i'm still blanking on what to say.

town

got up real late (10ish) decided not to crash my sister's softball practice, which was a good thing, because it can canceled. went online for a while, climbed trees (stop and smell the pine needles, or you'll break your toenails) then went to the library. read manga for a little bit (strange) then went to Orient with Katie and Towanda. spent five minutes reading the menu before we even went in... talked about me being a vampire (hair strategically positioned) and such... Russian wrappers say crab, "I wish i could read the table" and human lamb. tried to go to the bookstore, but it was closed "tomorrow" but "they can't close the green, dear" so off we went. walked the fence, wandered around ("stay off the grass" and "the rope is there for a reason") and there was some flipflop switching... all in all much fun.

Moleskine

it's sunny and windy- quite windy. however, too warm to wear my coat anymore, which makes me feel strange. it became an extension of me... five big pockets, very useful. and now that my wallet has wandered off, i'm always misplacing small things, like pennies, scrunchies, and pencil sharpeners.

on the other hand, i am now the proud owner of a moleskine. it is sitting on top of my books, next to my tea, next to this ViewSonic (strange name, that) at the Howe. i have needed a little notebok for a while... i type most quotes and things onto stickies, then onto a blog i use specifically for notes, but i cant bring that with me. thus, a little smooth notebook. it does not fit in my pockets- altho it would have fit in my coat- but it is nice. it is "the legendary notebook of Hemingway, Picasso, Chatwin." must look up Chatwin...

Chatwin: apparently the greatest novelist since Hemingway. Also, had revelation: moleskine=wallet. does not hold coins, or complete pencil sharpeners, but almost anything else.
